About our School
The first stage of the St Hurmizd Assyrian School was opened on 20 January 2002 by His Beatitude Mar Meelis Zaia.
Currently St Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School is providing educational services to over 700 students including Religious Studies, Assyrian Language and all NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Key Learning Areas.
The School commenced its first term of teaching on 30 January 2002 with 86 students.
Our Patron Saint
Rabban Hurmizd was born in the mid 17th century in the city of Shiraz, now known as Ahwaz in Iran.
His father’s name was Joseph and his mother’s name was Thecla. This Saint grew up in a household full of true Christian faith. His parents were devoted to fasting, praying and helping people in need.
Faith, Heritage, Education
Mr Aaron Boyd is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Assyrian Christian Schools and has over 30 years of educational and professional experience.
Benjamin Khoshabeh is the 3rd Principal of St Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School having taken up his position in July 2018. Mr Khoshabeh is a respected educator with extensive experience in leadership.
