Message from the Board of Directors of the Assyrian Schools
St. Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School (SHAPS) is part of the Assyrian Schools group, which includes: St. Narsai Assyrian Christian College, St. Hurmizd Early Learning Centre and Grace Childcare Centre.
The Chairman and the Board of Directors of the Assyrian Schools would like to extend a warm welcome to those parents and individuals seeking to enrol their children at the St. Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School.
The Assyrian Schools Board comprises of the Chairman and Director of Assyrian Schools Limited, His Eminence Archbishop Mar Meelis Zaia AM and a body of directors including parents and professionals from the local community. The Board is the governing body that oversees the operations of the St. Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School located at the site of the St. Hurmizd Cathedral, Greenfield Park; the Saint Narsai Assyrian Christian College, Horsley Park; St. Hurmizd Early Learning Centre, Greenfield Park and Grace Early Learning Centre, Bossley Park
St. Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School operates under the auspices of the Holy Apostolic and Catholic Assyrian Church of the East. The school was founded in 2002 to cater for the educational needs of the local Parks’ communities within Fairfield City.
The School shares its location with the St. Hurmizd Cathedral and is named after the seventh century Christian saint, Rabban Hurmizd. St. Hurmizd is recognised as one of the major saints of the Assyrian Church of the East and his feast day is celebrated on September 1st each year.
